This rustic porch has easily exchangeable window and screen panels to make the space usable practically year-round. The wood-burning stove heats heats not only the porch but much of the house in winter, as well. The generous roof overhangs and ceiling fan provide comfort in humid DC summers. The brick-paved floor can be hosed down, with leaf-pattern floor drain covers located at perimeter wall. A brick knee-wall with stone cap supports cedar posts and heavy-timber framing. Skylights, hanging cage lights and LED cove-lights provide a changing display of light patterns throughout the day and evening.
